Technology Seed Customers:
HP has issued a recall on laptop and docking station power cords sold during 2010, 2011 and 2012. The cords in question are suspected of overheating and are a fire hazard.
Because the power cords aren’t specific to particular models, there is no way of verifying if you’re using a recalled power cord other than visually inspecting it.
If you use an HP laptop or docking station I urge you to visit HP’s site to verify if your cord is affected. If so, HP will exchange it for a new one for free.
Info on HP’s recall / replacement can be found here: http://h30652.www3.hp.com/
The cords affected have the code “LS-15” on the end. There is an image of a recalled / affected cord at: http://h30652.www3.hp.com/.
If you are using a recalled power cord, unplug it from the wall and follow HP’s steps to have it replaced.
